Losar Tashi Delek 2006!

Mcleod Ganj, India, 3 March 2006 The Losar (the Tibetan New Year: 2133 Fire-Dog Year) was a unique celebration for musictibet.com! The site was hacked and wiped out from the server. In fact, around 30 Tibetan sites were obliterated from the server.

It was a learning time and an experience that will make us stronger and cautious in the future.

We put the site up again as soon as we knew about the hacking, working during Losar!

We are now receiving reports of how the Losar was celebrated at some places.

Tenzin Gyalpo (Michael) was the first person to tell us about how the Gonpo Entertainment's concerts in Mundgod and Bylakuppe went.

He wrote that the two concerts were huge success, like always with Gonpo Entertainment.

He has a concert lined up with 'Dragon Fire', a Tibetan army band at Bylakuppe and Hunsur, from 6 to 8 March. (More info on these concerts are on the Concerts page).

Dorjee Tsering from Dehra Dun wrote that he performed Dekar, the Tibetan jester, at Dekyiling Tibetan settlement for all three days of Losar. Then on the fourth and the fifth day of Losar, he went to Clementown for performance. He wanted to keep the original idea of Dekar performance. “In Tibet Dekar toured from house to house performing the art. It never used to be a stage performance,” Dorjee said.

Tenzin Dhundup from Nepal wrote that he had a great Losar. There was a huge concert on the third day of Losar at Boudha organised by some young people.
