Losar concerts to blow you awayKEHENA BEACH, Hawaii, 27 January 2007 Sonam Entertainment, a Toronto, Canada, based company, is producing four concerts to blow you away during Losar, the 2134 Fire Pig Tibetan Year, celebrations. The first concert will be held in Delhi on first day of Losar (18 February). Mcleod Ganj will host the second concert on the Losar Day four (21 February). The third concert will be held on 24 February at Dekiling Tibetan settlement and the fourth concert in Kathmandu on 3 March. The Regional Tibetan Youth Congress at all these areas are assisting Sonam to organise the concerts. A total of 25 artistes in exile are slated to perform in the concerts. The special feature will be the revival of the Yak Band, which rocked the exile community in early '90s. Some other known artistes include Pemsi, Tenzin Silnon and Kharag Penpa. Special surprises will be Ngodup from San Francisco and Tenzin Gelek from France. There will be other new talents to look forward to as well. The proprietor of the company, Sonam, believes that the concerts will not only blow you away during Losar but it will also support a greater cause. Fifty percent of the proceeds from these concerts will be donated for different projects. He is also planning to provide scholarship assistance to some children in Dharamshala and Dekiling. In an email message, Sonam apologised the cancellation of the concert in Bylakuppe. Sonam Entertainment was founded in September 2005. |
