Dechen Shak Dagsay gets a Golden Record
Dechen Shak Dagsay, Markus Heeb and Maximilian Regli with their Golden Record awards. DELHI, India, 6 December 2007 — Dechen Shak Dagsay, a Tibetan singer living in Switzerland, was presented a Golden Record by Polyglobe Music Austria for selling the artiste’s album Dewa Che over 15,000 copies in Switzerland. Stefan Ackermann, the Chairman of Polyglobe Music Austria, presented the award to Shak Dagsay in a special ceremony organised to honour the artiste on 28 November. Markus Heeb, from Heeb AG Music distribution, and Maximilian Regli, both music distributors in Switzerland, were also honoured for achieving exceptional distribution heights. Shak Dagsay’s third album Dcham Sem, (titled Compassion in the USA), was nominated for a Grammy in the New Age category. Her last album Tara Devi won an award in the Best Spiritual/Devotional Album category in the Tibetan Music Award 2007 held in June in Dharamshala, India. Polyglobe Music Austria in Patsch, near Innsbruck, has been producing and distributing her albums since 1999. |
