Tibetan Music Awards 2017 in September

Tibetan Music Awards 2017 is coming up, with online voting on 1 to 3 August, and the awards presentation ceremony taking place in McLeod Ganj, India, on 1 September.

The event celebrates music in a Tibetan context, and recognises and honours Tibetan musicians, singers, and others from the recording industry for their musical and artistic achievements and contributions, and to encourage excellence in the industry.

It will be the eighth edition in the series this year since the awards were started in 2003.

The event is organised every two years, and the awards are based on albums produced within that time. The winners will be directly decided by the public.

There will be 15 different awards, given in categories such as: Best Male Singer, Best Female Singer, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Debut Album, Best Country Singer (Lu or Nomadic song), Best New Age, Best Classical (Traditional or Folk song), Best Music Video, among others.

The musicians, singers, and others who get the maximum number of votes in each category will be the winners for that category. The winners will be announced on the Awards presentation ceremony night on 1 September.

All musicians, singers, and others from the recording industry who have produced works and are deemed eligible for awards will be invited for the event.

You can join us in making this event a success by making a contribution, and encourage Tibetan artistes, musicians, and performers to achieve higher goals.
